In this two week tour you’ll see all the great highlights that Peru has to offer. Archeological sites north and south of the country, the mythical Nazca lines, the incomparable Lake Titicaca and the most important Inca sanctuary: Machu Picchu.
Upon arrival to Lima, you will be transferred to the hotel by the hotel shuttle service.. Resting on the Peruvian coastline, Lima is the country's largest city with nearly ten million people. Declared a World Heritage Site, downtown Lima is filled with many historic, colonial buildings, such as the famous Cathedral of Lima and the Presidential Palace. Visitors will fall in love with the diverse cuisine served in the city's countless restaurants, including the ever popular exquisite local seafood!

In the morning, drive south to visit a religious center of the Mochica’s culture, built in the fifth century. Visit the Sun & Moon Temples. This major archaeological site was built by the Mochica’s culture (100 BC-650 AD). The archeological complex includes two large pyramids, the Huaca Las Estrellas, Huaca del Cerro Blanco, the Spider geoglyph and other buildings. Also visit the workshop of a traditional artisan Moche family. Continue with the visit of Huaca Dragon, also known as Huaca Arco Iris, belonging to the Chimu culture and located at the north of the city of Trujillo. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a typical restaurant, before proceeding with the visit to the archaeological complex of Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in America and also the largest of the Chimu culture, and includes walls, labyrinths, plazas, houses and temples. Proceed then to Huanchaco, an ancient fishing village where you can see the old boats called "Caballitos de Totora" with which
millenary tradition of artisanal fishing is kept (shared/group services). After the visit,
transfer to the hotel.

In the morning enjoy a 2 hour panoramic excursion to Ballestas Islands, where you'll be able to observe sea lions and seabirds like the Guanay Cormorants and Peruvian Pelicans. If you are lucky, you might even see one of the famous Humboldt penguins. Then, you will be privately transferred to Nazca. Along the way, visit the city of Ica and Huacachina oasis with its amazing surrounding sand dunes. Upon arrival to Nazca you will be transferred to the hotel.

In the morning, fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines (30 minutes). The Nazca Lines refer to figures created centuries ago in the Nazca Desert. These figures, varying from simple lines to detailed monkeys and lizards can only be viewed from the sky, which means their creators could never actually see their work. Then you will be transferred to Arequipa. Arequipa is one of the country's most important cities. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Arequipa´s historic downtown is home to many white buildings made with a pearly volcanic rock. While here, enjoy the city's many famous plazas, squares, parks, and historic structures and monuments.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a shared tour which starts at the Main Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Peru, which is located next to the impressive Arequipa Cathedral, built in the 17th century and fully rebuilt after several earthquakes. Then you will go to the Monastery of Saint Catherine, built in 1579, which is an authentic medieval cloister and a small religious citadel used to date. You will then visit the Church of the Society of Jesus (1590), considered a classical example of the local baroque architecture, which houses an exceptional collection of paintings and murals. You will end the tour visiting the Yanahuara and Carmen Alto districts, to have a scenic view of Arequipa's countryside.

You will be transferred to the bus station for your regular bus to Puno. Upon arrival you'll be transferred to the hotel. Puno is known for its strong culture, such as their handicrafts and dancing and has thus been referred to as Peru's folkloric capital. Here you can enjoy the atmosphere and culture and take in the impressive sights that Puno has to offer.

Today you will be picked up from hotel and transferred to the floating islands of the Uros.
Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands. We will visit some of the small ones where each island has just two households and the main island where you find the schools, central market and administrative center. The boat journey will continue to Taquile Island. Unlike other islands, inhabited by Aymara-speaking people in the lake, its residents speak Quechua. It was part of the Inca Empire and vestiges of said culture can be noted in their buildings, the islanders adopted the Spanish peasant dress that they are known for still using today. Taquilenos are known for their fine hand-woven textiles and clothing, which are regarded as among the highest-quality handicrafts in Peru. In 2005, Taquile and its Textile Art were honored by being proclaimed Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. At the end of the tour, transfer to the hotel.

A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the established time and you will be transferred to bus station, where you will be assisted by a representative. During the morning you will be transferred from Puno to Cusco by bus, passing by spectacular locations on the way such as the town of Andahuaylillas, The Temple of Wiracocha and La Raya, the limit between Cusco and Puno over 4313 masl. The bus has a heating system, guides in English and Spanish, TV / Video, interactive video of the route, GPS, free WiFi, hot drinks on the way (subject to request) and lunch buffet in La Pascana restaurant. A transportation service with a guide will pick you up when you arrive at the bus station and will transfer you to your hotel.

Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour to the Imperial City of Cusco. Some of the landmarks you'll see are: the main square, which was scene for many key events in Cusco's history; the Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664 out of large slabs of red granite; the Santo Domingo Convent, built on the Koricancha, an important temple dedicated to the worship of the Sun. Afterwards, visit the nearby ruins: Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture; Kenko, a ritual site with underground galleries and a semicircular amphitheater; Puka Pukara, the red fortress and finally Tambomachay, the Inca Baths. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

During the morning, you are picked up from your hotel in Cusco to visit the town of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban centre located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. In Chinchero there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru. Then, you are transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay. The museum is a centre Andean traditions interpretations, where demonstrations of the elaboration of textile work, adobe, pottery and silverware are carried out in the same way in which they used to in antiquity; an original recreation of Inca traditions. Also, residents of the museum include llamas, sheep and alpacas, and they can be fed! Transfer to Ollantaytambo where you have free time for lunch. After this, visit the town and local archaeological site, inhabited uninterruptedly since Inca times, and climb the iconic fortress, built next to a mountain. At the end of this activity, you are transferred back to your hotel.

Transfer from the hotel to the Train Station. A once in a lifetime experience awaits you, on one of the most scenic and interesting train journeys in the world! The picturesque journey along the Urubamba River takes you to the legendary city of the Incas: Machu Picchu. This is the most famous and impressive Incan site. Divided into three districts; this site was intricately built using impressive, ancient techniques. Upon arrival to the lost city, enjoy a guided tour to the ruins. In the afternoon enjoy a delicious lunch at Café Inkaterra. Enjoy the evening train back. A transportation service with a guide will pick you up from the Ollantaytambo train station at the established time, and will transfer you to your hotel in Cusco City.

In the afternoon, start your shared tour with a scenic landscape in the colonial downtown, which radiates from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Stroll over to the Cathedral, which was begun in the 16th century and took 80 years to build. Then visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that still belongs to the same family after all these centuries.
Continue to Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built on a seventh-century a pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artifacts, as well as pieces of erotic art. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred to the hotel.
